The museum exhibits a large collection of photographs, clothing, and other fiber artifacts, tools, furniture, household objects, farm equipment, and memorabilia. Exhibits are arranged in chronological order, from Glacial to Global. Located along the Schroon River, which provided ample opportunity for industrial water power, Warrensburg rose to preeminence in the 19th century with sawmills, industrial tanning, paper making, and clothing manufacture, which continued into the latter half of the 20th century.

Founded in 1975, the museum was renovated and reorganized, and re-opened July, 2009, with all new exhibits. Owned and generously financed by the Town of Warrensburg, the museum is operated under contract with the Warrensburgh Historical Society. With all volunteer help, the entire collection has been cleaned, stored (or exhibited) and catalogued using PastPerfect Museum Software.
